4th Royal Fusiliers were part of 9 Brigade, 3rd Division and in the Spring of 1916 had been involved in heavy fighting in the southern part of the Ypres salient. Augustus Pomroy died of wounds on 10th April having been evacuated back to a base hospital at Etaples on the coast but as yet there is no information as to exactly where and when he was wounded. |
